Double Clothing Rack

Clothing racks come in many designs, colors, and sizes, but they are all suitable for displaying, transporting, or storing clothes. For every application, there are different versions with specific properties. In this article, we will specifically discuss the clothing racks with the largest capacity for hanging clothes, namely the double clothing racks. The main feature of these racks is that they can accommodate a large amount of clothing in a small floor area. This is the result of adding a second rod above or next to each other. Because the rack consists of multiple layers, a lot of hanging space is created in a small area. Double clothing racks come in two types; the double rack with bars next to each other or above each other. The differences are further explained below.

Double Clothing Rack Side by Side

A double clothing rack where the bars lie parallel next to each other is space-saving. Up to twice as many clothes can be hung compared to a 'regular' clothing rack. Note that this form brings more depth. A double rack is made of extra thick steel and equipped with extra strong braked rubber wheels. This is necessary because the double capacity results in greater loads on the rack. Additionally, this type is also height adjustable. There is a variant where the 2 bars are fixed to each other and can only be adjusted together, and a variant where both the left and right bars can be adjusted in height separately, allowing different clothing lengths to be presented on both sides. This also makes the double clothing rack suitable not only for clothes but also widely used for displaying, for example, curtain or carpet samples.

Another possible configuration of the double clothing rack is the vertical setup. This consists of two bars placed on top of each other on the clothing rack, creating extra hanging space. These racks are also strong for larger loads and equipped with large braked wheels. An advantage over the double clothing rack with bars next to each other is that this rack takes up less depth. Because the rods are placed on top of each other, this double rack does require extra height to be considered. These racks are also height adjustable, allowing the height of the top bar to be adjusted. This can be done in 2 different ways: using extension pins in the side supports in steps of 10cm or using a knob that can be tightened. The latter is infinitely adjustable and thus slightly more flexible. This latter method is usually used for adjusting the middle bar. An important point here is that the middle bar can never be lower than the bottom part of the side supports. This is because the middle bar slides over the top part of the side support.

Special transport racks are made for transporting clothes. These clothing racks are made from sturdy welded thick-walled tubes. The wheels are also extra large so that the rack can move well on uneven surfaces.
