Measuring caps
When presenting clothing, it is important that the customer can easily find the right garment in the desired size. This can be achieved in various ways. For instance, clothing of a particular size can be hung in one compartment. This can also be combined with, for example, a colored clothing rack so that it is immediately clear where the customer can look. When multiple sizes need to be hung in a rack, size indicators or size markers can be used. We will further examine these two options and their differences below.
Size Indicators
Size indicators are large plastic rings with a diameter of 11 cm, also known as size rings. These indicators have a hole in the middle and a small opening. This opening allows the size indicator to be mounted over a rod in the hanging section. These rings are available in various colors such as white and black. They can optionally be printed; on white discs, the print can be black, and on black rings, it can be white or gold. There is an option to display clothing sizes in numbers or letters such as 38, 40, 42, and S, M, L, etc. The advantage of size indicators is their large size and good visibility. The disadvantage is that if a garment is accidentally hung in a different clothing rack, it may not be noticed. For this reason, size markers are more suitable. In addition to round size indicators, there are also plastic variants with a clamp at the bottom and a square plate at the top for printing.
Size Markers
Size markers, mark-bricks, wiser-sizers, or markers as they are sometimes called, are small round caps that can be mounted around the hook of a clothing hanger. These size markers come in many colors such as red, orange, yellow, pink, green, blue, and gray, but the most commonly used colors are white and black. Like size indicators, mark-bricks can also be printed with clothing sizes in letters and numbers. The markers are also available in large and small sizes, known as mini-markers. These are 10 mm high with a diameter of 13 mm and are available in printed and unprinted variants. The packaging sizes of the size markers range from 25 to 100 pieces. The greatest advantage of a mark-brick is that it indicates the clothing size per hanger/item. If garments are hung in a different location, it is less problematic than with size indicators. The downside is that attaching the size markers to the hanger is labor-intensive. Additionally, they are much smaller than size indicators and therefore less noticeable.
The choice between size indicators, size rings, size markers, mark-bricks, wiser-sizers, or markers depends on the method of clothing presentation and personal preference. Both are excellent ways to indicate clothing sizes and can be used alongside each other to leverage the advantages of both.
